Aisha:

I was invited to my first Bonded Through Books meeting in January 2009 by Mariegabrielle James!  I was excited to be amongst these high spirited and intellectual women.  It is a privilege to be apart of a group who's main objective is to embrace literature written by African American authors.  I was introduced to the joy of reading at a young age by my mother.  I remember the very first times we went to the library and how wrapped up she was in novel's at the time.   As many young girls so often want to be like their mom's I too wanted to embrace the love of reading.   Growing up we read both fiction and nonfiction and I could appreciate the life lessons or fantasy worlds that books took me too.

I enjoy the group settings, interactions, and reflections that we share regarding the readings  it's enlightening and empowers us to see things from different perspectives.  God willing I hope to enjoy this book club and it's members for many years to come.

I love books and can't pinpoint any favorites in particular, just enjoy seeing how the written word is used to create powerful stories for all to enjoy!

Praying God's Blessings amongst all who visit this site!
